Founding Partner

Shehu Popoola-Taiwo is the visionary Founding Partner of Popoola-Taiwo LP, with over ten years of legal practice experience. He is a seasoned maritime law expert, a renowned dispute resolution specialist, and an accomplished human resources strategist, with core strengths in Maritime Law and Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR).

Shehu is the founder of Court 86, Africa’s first Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) platform, which was shortlisted by the Hague Institute for Innovation of Law (HiiL) as one of the world’s top justice innovations at the HiiL Justice Accelerator 2018.

Beyond the courtroom, Shehu serves as the Chairman of Youngship Nigeria and is currently the Executive Coordinator of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) Working Group, where he contributes to global maritime policy development.

He is actively pursuing a Master of Science in Maritime Administration and Management at the prestigious University of Lagos, adding to his long-standing membership in professional bodies such as the Nigerian Bar Association, London Court of Arbitration, and International Council of Commercial Arbitration (ICCA).
