Toheeb A Jamiu is a Legal Practitioner called to the Nigerian Bar in 2026, graduating from the Nigerian Law School with Second Class (Upper Division). He obtained his LL.B degree from the University of Ilorin, where he also graduated with Second Class (Upper Division) distinguishing himself as one of the top ten best-performing students in his graduating class.

Toheeb is an Associate at Popoola-Taiwo LP, where he has principally gained experience and exposure across maritime law, energy law, commercial arbitration, fundamental rights and litigation. His practice involves legal research, drafting and review of legal documents, case preparation, legal advisory and the analysis of complex legal and regulatory issues. He approaches legal practice with particular attention to sound reasoning, precision and practical solutions.

Before joining Popoola-Taiwo LP, Toheeb gained practical legal experience and professional exposure through engagments with; Wale Obaremo & Co; Omaplex Law Firm, Olumide Sonupe & Co, Olumide Babalola LP followed by a role at Popoola-Taiwo LP. These experiences provided him with exposure to different aspects of legal practice and strengthened his interest in litigation, commercial practice, regulatory matters and dispute resolution.

During his undergraduate studies at the University of Ilorin, Toheeb served as a Lead and Presiding Justice of Students’ Union Court participating in the administration of justice and determination of disputes over constitutional, civil and quasi-criminal matters on  campus. This role further developed his skills in legal reasoning, adjudication and the application of legal principles.

Toheeb is also a legal and academic writer, with publications in national and international journals on contemporary legal, regulatory and socio-economic issues. His areas of professional interest extend to; fundamental rights, data protection, ethical AI, maritime law, energy law and other emerging areas of regulatory practice.

He is particularly interested in legal scholarship, institutional development and the advancement of justice through sound legal practice and research.
